Why don't we fall in love?

Amerie. Way back in 2002 she bust out the block with a hot single and a gorgeous look. A Black and Korean beauty who sang at the top of her lungs with a real sense of urgency. The song? Why don't we fall in love? 2 and a half minutes full of strings, lite 808, and harmonious backing vocals. It took us back to the life and times of Mary J. Blige circa What's the 411? and My Life. And then a few years later Amerie surprised us all by dropping a single so hot to trot that you wondered to yourself why oh why isn't this girl much bigger than this song would have us believe she is? 1 Thing was,and still is, fire. Rich Harrison, comes with it yet again, surrounding Amerie's lush yet urgent vocals in a ring of fire, percussive drums, and hypnotic vocal layering. It's just too much. And too good. Well it's been done again. Amerie is coming back at us with yet another hot joint, courtesy of Cee-Lo Green. [Have you heard of him? He's quite good no?]The track is titled take control, and sounds as if it takes a cue from Beyonce's B'Day playbook, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Also throw in a little early Janet sass, and MJ's Off the Walll horns and sneer for good measure. And that gospel like vocal help from Cee-Lo on both the pre-chorus is just too much...of a good thing. The best way for an artist to grab our attention and not let the public forget that they still exist is to come with it single and/or video wise. Big Ups to Amerie for coming with it. Always a pleasure.
