dude... incredible. : the albums, 2014.

20/schoolboy q/oxymoron

it's been a good year for the rap game. mixtape, underground, major label, free, there was something for everybody in the genre this year. whether you wanted to keep it conscious, gangsta, or stunt like a G, you could find yourself an album or mixtape to fulfill that need. and if you needed somebody to party with, you called upon your boy q. with oxymoron, schoolboy q comes through the door swinging with the wit and introspection of eminem in his prime, and the fun lovin' west coast swag of cypress hill. oxymoron harkens back to a time where great major label rap albums weren't a rarity, and shines with no skits, thanks to the affable mc behind the mic. q is unapologetically q, a common steez seen across the board from all of the year's best hip-hop. he's also hilarious, confident, and of course, a mothafu__in' g. straight west coastin', this that shit that you need.
