Love and Happiness.

FILE UNDER: A Moment of Clarity/These are my confessions.

"Party and bullshit!"

I had to vaccum this weekend and found this journal sheet tucked under my bed. Totally forgot about this and meant to throw it away. This was completely written a few Saturday nights ago on my couch in my summer pajama shorts, in the dark, while streaming Vanishing Point with my roommate on the laptop thanks to his Netflix.

Just you watch:

Mid July 2006

We were 1 1/2 to two months
All over the place were we
But we still wanted to connect
Trevor and/or Bruce suggested it
A Blog
The Haberdasher.blogspot.com to be
exact.
It acted mainly as a where in the
world is such, and such kind of blog
But I saw it as an opportunity to
start writing and get my "observational
humorist" on, with a key emphasis on
music. Soon the gang realized
what was up and confronted "the world at
large" (all we who were affiliated with
The Haberdasher andf pretty much
said "what the deal. Ain't that kind of
blog. Get ya Hustle on and get yo'
own!"

And so it began

What began as a random assort
ment of e-mails, zine articles, and
myspace blog entries about music,
has blossomed into something near and
dear to me. Say what you will about
blogs (Yeah my grammar be off , sen
tences can run on, and does "that
semi-colon belong there?) but
I'm grateful that there is a forum
that exists where I can
share my love of all things musical
related "with the masses." So thanks
to those who may be reading this
blog (all 5 of y'all, haha!), bookmarking
it (one can only dream), refreshing it, and sometimes lea
ving a comment. I may not be the
most original, creative, well-written,
and entertaining blogger in the
world, but I hope some who loves
music just as much as me, is
reading along with a nod
a smile, as if to say, "boy you ain't never lied."

Wow. That was self congratulatory. ("I'M MY OWN BIGGEST FAN CAUSE I LOVE ME SOME ME!!!) Oh did I mention I was lifted and buzzed like, how do you say, 'WHOA!'(?)Luckily I scribbled a line at the end to separate the text from this haphazard thank you box:

Big ups to Pudgy Girl, Bernardo Guzman, the folks over at Idolator (and their wacky readers), Defamer, Rich @ FourFour, the folks over at Concrete Loop, Eskay over at Nah Right, Bossip, Victor Hugo Duran, D. Kareem Canada, Jeff Weiss, Teresa Lynch, Pitchfork, Rizoh over at The Rap Up, Pitchfork, Stereogum, Tom Breihan, Fresh over at Crunk + Disorderly, discobelle, Joe Rose, and most importantly "YOU THE CUSTOMERS!"

Phew! That's what's up! Now let's never speak of this again...
