"Manic soulster and techno shaman Jamie Lidell has announced that Jim, the follow-up to 2005's Multiply, will be released via Warp Records on April 29. Recorded in Los Angeles, Paris, and Lidell's current home of Berlin, Jim comes on the heels of a series of live dates, a recording session with Beck, and a collaboration with iPod poster-girl Feist. In terms of collaborators, "There's a great deal more Mocky on this one," Lidell told Earplug. In addition to Mocky, the Canadian-born, Berlin-based musician who guested on six of Multiply's ten tracks, Lidell says "Gonzo" — aka comedy-loving pianist Gonzales — "is there in full effect too." Other appearances include Nikka Costa(!), Justin Stanley, Alex Acuña, Peaches, and, according to Lidell, three "seriously heavy backing singers," one of whom sang with Ray Charles..."
