DOO-WOPS & HOOLIGANS: The Albums, 2011.

21/Lady Gaga/Born This Way

Like Drake’s Take Care, Born This Way plays like the sophomore album that wanted to come first; an album that arrived more present and confident than its predecessor, but is still unequivocally Gaga. Loud, slinky, and often times playful, Born This Way presents a more apt and vivid soundtrack for the decadent pop megastar we see in the magazines and TV screens for the first time over the course of a full LP. This is unabashedly youthful pop exposes dressed to the nines for You and I, the Bad Kids, and everyone else busy standing on the Edge of Glory. No emotion is too heartfelt and no groove is too harsh. That’s a good look. And she wears it well.
KEY TRACKS: Hair/Heavy Metal Lover/The Edge of Glory
