DOO-WOPS & HOOLIGANS: The Singles, 2011.

05/Friendly Fires/Hawaiian Air

If life were indeed a Disney movie, Hawaiian Air would be the musical number/montage highlighting a trip to someplace magical and far, far, away. "Up in the Sky, Honolulu bound(!)", Ed MacFarlane and the gang are giddy with anticipation, full of adrenaline, and "leaving the world beneath the clouds". The music is just as excited, as the soundtrack here is tropicalia inspired and bursting at the seams with pure joy, rising in solidarity with Ed as the sheer thrill of excitement and euphoria washes over him (and us) throughout the track (and especially in the choruses). It's a wonderfully buoyant and joyous trip to cloud nine that you'll enjoy from take off til landing. Join them, and escape.
