DOO-WOPS & HOOLIGANS: The Albums, 2011.

22/The Rapture/In the Grace of Your Love

As sunrise approaches and this album draws to a close, a saxophone hangs low in the back as lead vocalist Luke Jenner and his congregation let forth a series of euphoric and harmonious Hallelujahs. It's a fitting theme and come down for the scene that came before it on this here LP, In the Grace of Your Love, another DFA Production. [So you already know what this is.] Like Rapture albums before it, In the Grace of Your Love seamlessly locks the trio's post punk + disco leaning sensibilities hand in hand with their dance rock inclinations. At the top of this mountain stands Ringmaster and Revival leader Luke Jenner, vocals present like a bullhorn leading the festivities, asking us to tag along and just FEEL. [And yes, DANCE!] Add it all together and the mood is right for euphoric release and jubilee in spades, just like them closing Hallelujahs. Again, and again, and again. A joyful noise, indeed.
