NICE AS F*CK! : The Albums, 2016.

21/the julie ruin/hit reset

I am happy to report that in 2016 Kathleen Hanna is still in possession of that megaphone. And that megaphone, like the frontwoman herself today, yesterday, and I am sure from here til eternity, is fired up, and ready to go. She is still, in 2016, the same woman shouting from the roof tops and making it known that she is not the one. The same woman that "can play electric guitar while shaving her legs in a moving car". She's still unconcerned with your self-absorbed feelings or making you feel comfortable by adhering to whatever it is that makes you feel comfortable. Go "START A KICKSTARTER FOR YOUR HEART!" cause she is done; Would rather not; Has had it up to here with the Mr. So. and So's. And best of all, she and her cohorts here still sound like they are having the time of their lives while doing so. Hit Reset is a spirited thirteen song set of pointed directives and threats to the opposition in whatever form they may take (smart asses, the ignorant, "male feminists"), rife with the high energy ra-ra-sis-boom-bah punk rock aesthetics & classic girl group sensibilities found in most of Ms. Hanna's projects. Clocking in at just over 30 minutes, Hit Reset states it case forcefully, ensuring that it is never missed or misunderstood each and every time you press play.
