So a while back, before the start of the new year, right after Thanksgiving, and sometime before X-mas, I, along with a good friend of mine and his significant other went to this bar expecting it to be jumpin' jumpin'. For the duration of our time there [about two hrs] it was nearly empty. Literally us, Bigmama [sassy, young, good looking bartender]and the dj. No crowd, good drinks, and good music. [Except playing Fly Like A Bird by Mariah Carey. Really? What was that for? This ain't church. I ain't come here to redeem my sins]
Around the one hour mark, this shimmering, slow grooving bounce comes blaring through the speakers. It was Fergie. Some track called Glamorous, that became even better when Ludacris came in and then left with another one of his brief and playful guest raps. I was all sorts of surprised. Of course I had downloaded Fergie's album out of curiousity. [I had a period when I was too into BEP's Elephunk. So what? Sue me.]Unfortunately I stopped after three or fours tracks. The first couple tracks on the cd are good and sequenced properly. I had no time for anything after that. But this all changed after I heard this song in the vacant club. Everytime I spun it I knew that this had to be a single, and now it is.
A few things:
1. The whole biting on Gwen Stefani thoughts won't dissipate for some after hearing this song.
2. Why? Go listen to Luxurious.
3. Why? She has two black chicks (?) who have popped up in previous videos. Guess they're her Harajuku girls.
4.Is Freddy Rodriguez her flight attendent?
5. Glad to see she wasn't tripping on meth at that party in 1994.
