"BANDZ A MAKE HER DANCE!": The Albums, 2012

23/Lower Dens/Nootropics

When I call upon Lower Dens to take me there, I am led to this here place they call Nootropics. A wondrously ambient, cavernous place unconcerned with clutter, and highly appreciative of the ever fleeting comforts of space and time. Lower Dens seek solace in the space around them, and the air between us; the controlled rhythmic patterns, the sonically abstract, and soothingly queer, creating husky atmospheric rhythms that revel in dark and ornately gothic textures, as well as meticulous, and highly concentrated cerebral psychedelia. Coexisting in lockstep harmony, feeding off each other, bleeding into each other, effortlessly (Check the three song suite that begins with the track "Brains" on SIDE A). Exhaustive particulars may abound elsewhere, but in Nootropics, there's plenty space and time to let things sit and breathe.
KEY TRACKS: Brains/Stem/Propigation
