BOUND: The Albums, 2013.

25/Savages/Silence Yourself

They say love is a many splendored thing. Now, that's all well and good, but it's also true that love... is a motherfucker. It's uncompromising; jagged; an entity prone to handing out battle scars. These truths become evident throughout the debut album from the all female English post punk outfit Savages. Silence Yourself is love in all its splendored, uncompromising (and oftentimes hopeful) glory. A close to 40 minute set of the most brashest, rip roaring and confrontational rock music you'll hear all year. Silence yourself, it's Jehnny Beth and co.'s turn to have a say, tell it like it is, and let you be a fly on the wall to these universal tales of that splendored crazy little thing called love. Silence yourself, relate, and get lost in the thickly gothic atmospheric haze.
