“Your demons got reasons to fight!” we hear a few tracks in, on the album highlight Hollywood Lawn. “So you keep dreaming.” And her demons got reasons to fight, so she kept dreaming, and singing, and creating through the break-ups and the shake ups. On album number four eureka moments come Jenny’s way and are presented vividly, in stereo. On the Line is a mature and musically robust album from a woman no longer on the verge of a nervous breakdown trying to remember to keep dreaming. It’s the sound of getting over and the attempts to do so that finds solace in melodies and sounds that are reminiscent of those that were found on 70s AM radio. Peace of mind. All she and the music wants is peace of mind. And with On the Line, we all get it.
