04/miguel/wildheart
he says he's too proper for the black kids, & too square to be a hood nigga. too immoral for the christians, & too moral for the cut-throat. but he's just right for the rest of us. the free spirits, with the wildhearts. this wildheart in particular has a dirty mind, both cloudy and erotic. from the minute this album revs up, miguel grabs you by the hand and raises your pulse. and then he does it again. and then again, never ceasing to titillate and amaze. three albums in, miguel is at his most comfortable and eclectic. and attractive. by being genuine, and by being upfront; confident throughout and atop these forward thinking rhythm & blues/psych rock hybrids. it's sex personified, and you're allowed to take part. and while he may fret about never feeling like he belongs, on wildheart, he's in the pocket.
