Dead Wrong.

FILE UNDER: A Moment of Clarity/Quote of the Day!

"Scratch my back and I'll?..."

"It is because of me — I definitely think [my show] has helped the movement. Before it came out, everyone was still a little apprehensive about [same sex relationships]. Then they realized, 'Wow, everyone is really into this stuff, and it is fine.' The next thing you know, [gay marriage] is legal."

Big ups to the homie Justin for this one!

Old school funk for the true funk soldiers!

    I, I feel so numb.

So I went to a big Sports Bar/Pool Hall last night to catch the second half of the Lakers game last night. [Don't even get me started on that historic disaster right now] It was all shouting and screaming with hot wings and pitchers of Fat Tire. As we all know, the game eventually came to a tragic end, leading a large majority of the crowd to file out with a quickness, as if they were roaches and someone turned on the lights. With the game over and the crowd dwindling, all of the flat screens had their volumes lowered so that those remained could talk amongst themselves, shoot some pool, and -for better or for worse- rule the jukebox FOR THE ENTIRE CROWD. And on this night, somebody was nostalgic for "Modern Rock" circa 1998-2002; Either that, or someone found a Now CD from that period and pressed play for the club. At one point in the evening, I stopped myself pre shot at the billiards table when one song in particular came on, wondering aloud, "oh my God is this Linkin Park? Like Hybrid Theory Linkin Park?" Yes, yes it was. And the crowd was loving it, singing along, fist pumping, the whole nine. [Surprise, surprise] Me, not so much. BUT I ain't gon' lie, I totally sang along and got down at my Billiards table when this track presented below came on. And believe me when I say I ain't pressed play on this one [or anything from this band]in a minute.

P.S. Imma go ahead and blame this track [despite how much I like it] for the often misguided post 2000 trend of pairing a Modern Rock act with a Hip-Hop act and hoping for a crossover hit.

    Into the Groove.

I'm not gon' lie, I did not have high hopes for this dance when it began. [Despite the fact that I squealed with delight when No Air started] And then Joshua joined Katee, and it was a fucking wrap. Dance of the night, hands down. Oh, and make sure you catch the end of the dance. That article of clothing transfer made me jump out of my chair and squeal in delight. And you will too! Just watch:

For all you McCainacs out here in these streets holding it down.

    Father"Hood".

FILE UNDER: A Moment of Clarity.

"Ooh, this my shit, this my shit."

Look, I love Snoop just as much as the next man. And Fatherhood -along with Rev Run's Run House over on MTV- is a fine example of when keeping it real goes right in reality television. [And is a show that was coincidentally introduced to me on April 20th of this year.] But sorry S-N-Double O-P, I just don't see this tour gaining much traction in the "hoods" of America.

Baby's latest opusTha Carter III (maybe you've heard of it?) I ain't listened [and came back to] this many hip-hop ALBUMS in a minute. I'm lovin it.

*Yes, I know, I'm being selective, and am sure that I am neglecting and ignoring many of the other current hip-hop acts or singles that will prevent a large majority of y'all from clapping back, but whatever.
